Karen was lovely to coordinate with. We met the night before we had to leave town and she seemed quite self-sufficient and knowledgeable about what to do with our kitties. Our place was kept clean and our kitties well looked after. She even sent photos a few times while we were on vacation, which is always a huge bonus!
Karen and Garrett are great and very organized. They are clear communicators which I appreciate. George was thrilled with them - walks, ball throwing, cuddles and treats. He was very relaxed when we arrived home - showing how relaxed and calm (yet active) Karen and Garrett are. Not sure if he missed us at all! The house was clean and in order when we got home. Couldn't have been more smooth. I would invite them back anytime they're coming thru our way. Thanks so much!
Karen was an incredible sitter for Bobby! She gave daily updates and pictures and did an awesome job giving Bobby his inhaler treatments. She really made me feel so at ease while being away. The apartment was very tidy and clean when I got home. Bobby was at very relaxed when I got home and I know he felt loved and cared for by Karen. I would recommend Karen for any upcoming pet sits!
Karen was wonderful! We met her the night before we left and just knew at that point that our retriever, Holly, and our home were in good hands. She is obviously a seasoned pet sitter and is serious about making sure she is aware of even small details. She communicated well and took our dog on many interesting walks. It was clear when, on our return home, Holly cuddled up to Karen and looked sad when she left that she had really enjoyed her time with her. We would definitely be happy to have Karen return again (and so would Holly)!
As first time users of TrustedHousitters , we couldn't have gotten off to better start! Karen & Garrett were awesome! Our home, and most importantly our dog Lola, were extremely well taken care of. They sent us regular updates (and photos) of Lola's activities and well-being. so we were reassured. They were also extremely accommodating of Lola's needs as a senior dog with her own well-established habits & preferences. In fact, Karen & Garret were so great we'd be inclined to even reschedule a future vacation if and when they return to the Northwest. We highly recommend them.
This was our second time with Karen (Garrett was not with her). Of course, she was perfect or we would not have invited her back. The cats seem to love her and everything went smoothly. She sent pictures of cats which we really appreciated. She left our house better than we left it for her. Mail and bills were all waiting for us in a nice little pile. All packages brought in from front door. If you can get Karen for your sit, you and your pets will be very lucky.
Karen was superb and Ferris obviously adored her. Her care of both my home and my dog was second to none and I returned from my six week break to a spotless apartment. Everything ran like clockwork and Karen had no hesitation in giving Ferris his ear drops every second day. I also swapped Ferris’s food in the first week and Karen gradually introduced the new food seamlessly. I booked another holiday last night and although I’m in Australia I will be approaching Karen and Garrett immediately, just in case their plans may include Australia next February. I recommend Karen and Garrett 100%.

Karen was wonderful! We spent two weeks travelling overseas with an 8-hour timezone difference and communication was still just fine. She asked great questions prior to the trip and I'm confident she would have no issues dealing well with anything that could come up with the home or the pets.
We had to delay our flight despite knowing she couldn't stay, but she followed our instructions for the cats to a T; we arrived to a clean and tidy house and happy pets. Thanks!
Karen was absolutely wonderful!! Our previously confirmed sitter had to cancel on the day of due to unforseen circumstances. Karen was about 6 hours away and saw our listing and immediately offered to come to our rescue! She was amazing with the pups and the house was spotless when we got back home. Karen and Garrett are the best house/pet sitters! I have such confidence when we travel that everything will be taken care. They are extremely caring and loving towards are pets, and make sure they are happy in our absence. They send pictures as often as we want and keep us updated on anything that happens at home. Right from the beginning, everything flowed easily (which was great as this was our first time using Trusted Housesitters). BUT most importantly, she was wonderful with our GSD Sadie—so much so I think our girl would have been fine if we stayed away another couple weeks! We hope Karen is available for future sits.

Karen and Garrett were wonderful sitters! Rosie took to them right away, and they took very good care of our home while we were out of the country. They were easy to work with, organized, flexible and tidy. Our house has never looked better! Rosie even looked a bit sad when Karen and Garrett left. Karen is one of those rare individuals you will trust the moment you meet her. It's an unusual trait, that ability to convey competence, carefulness and reliability all in the way one comes across before saying a single word, but that's Karen. It's not surprising that she holds a job of the greatest competence and level of trust at a highly regarded hospital.
If you aren't able to meet her prior to a housesit, take my word for it—Karen is a tiptop professional in the housesitting business. True to form, Karen handled our home and cat Sherpa with ease. Both were in dandy shape upon our return.
Our time away was not without stress, but not a single moment of worrying or even wondering related to how things were going back home. It's a gift to be able to put that on auto-pilot, aka Karen-pilot, and deal with travel challenges instead.
I wish we had a month of travel planned so we could invite Karen again, and I hope that will happen someday.
We were a little anxious about leaving our cats for so long. But that was an unfounded worry with Karen and her husband, Garret talking the helm, they did great. We have one cat that is a little shy and she was out and about in no time. Instructions were followed to the 'T and all the cats were relaxed and happy when we got back home. The house was clean and in good order, it could not have been a better experience. If you are lucky enough to have them come sit for you and your pets, you won't be disappointed!
What a terrific couple! These two exceeded our expectations, as while we were away the PNW experienced record low temps and an ice & snow storm, both rare for our coastal town. They made the best of it all, taking excellent care of our home, pets, and even the house plants. Great communication with them while we were away. When our flight home was cancelled they were very helpful as we scrambled to make new arrangements for the care of the pets. We returned to a clean and tidy home, and very happy dog, cat, fish and hens. We highly recommend Karen & Garrett, and hope to see them again someday. Wonderful people, wonderful sit.
Karen and Garrett took wonderful care of our home and our cat while we were out of the country for 13 weeks. They kept us up-to-date on the happenings at home and town, and treated our home as if it were their own. We couldn't have been happier with them as house- and pet-sitters, and highly recommend them if you need reliable, conscientious people to watch your home and care for your pets.
We are so grateful Karen and Garrett were able to house/pet sit for us! They are super friendly and have a wealth of experience traveling and house sitting. Communication/hand-off ahead of time and during their stay was very smooth. One of our flights was cancelled a few weeks out from our trip and required us to shave a day off of our trip - they were very understanding of this and were able to accommodate no problem! During our time away, they sent a couple pics of our pets which was so nice to see. Upon return, our house was very clean, our pets were happy and... the best thing of all... they made cookies for us! (a couple recipes from their travels). We hope that we have the pleasure of seeing them again in the future!
Karen and Garrett are amazing! This is this first time we have ever left our two shelter adoptees. I was concerned about how the dogs would receive someone unknown into their space. No worries! Our two loved them from the beginning. Communication was excellent. The dogs had a blast. The house was in fantastic shape when we returned. We would consider ourselves fortunate to ever have these two house/pet sit for us again.
Karen and Garrett were wonderful to work with. Their communication was timely and accurate and they provided me with great feedback on what they needed and expected. My elderly cat gets 2 different kinds of medications daily and can be a challenge to calm at night. They handled it all beautifully and I felt more relaxed on my travels than I've ever been leaving him with a sitter. The home was as clean if not cleaner than when I left and both of my pets were so content on my return, it was clear they had been well cared for. I'd be thrilled to have Karen and Garrett stay again :)

When we returned from a month away, our Cali acted like a cat who had been loved. Karen and Garrett sent us photos of Cali daily, they were great communicators, and they kept the house in good shape. When we had a last-minute change to our return time, they were flexible and accommodating. We couldn't have asked for better sitters for our home or our beloved fluffy friend.
Karen and Garrett were amazing housesitters for us for a little over two weeks. They took wonderful care of our four pampered felines in our absence. We appreciated them taking one of our cats to the vet in a timely manner when she had something wrong with her eye. It was good to know that they were "on top of things" like that while we were so far away. We enjoyed their email and photo updates to make us feel more connected to our brood. When we returned, our house was clean, and they had even left us a home baked banana bread and some bottles of good wine to enjoy. Additionally, Karen and Garrett are just genuinely nice, interesting people with whom I would love to spend more time in the future.

We were really lucky to have Karen in our house taking care of our furry babies. We met her the day before leaving so our dogs got used to her. Since the first moment they met there was no doubt they will spend a great time all together. She was communicative, punctual and absolutely kind. During her stay she sent us pictures of the babies, and tell us how they were doing. She took excellent care of our dogs as well of the house. When we arrive home our dogs look so happy and relaxed, no doubt they really enjoyed the company of Karen. Really happy about the experience, I highly recommend Karen for taking care of your dogs!!!

Karen is scheduled to sit Marley and Dixie for our honeymoon in July. We had an impromptu 2 day trip pop up that we decided we wanted to take and needed a sitter very quickly to make this trip be able to happen! We had already met with Karen and Garrett as they wanted to come by our home to personally meet us and the dogs and knew that they would be amazing sitters. I asked Karen if she would be willing to watch them on short notice and she agreed within the day! Karen is reliable, friendly, and you can guarantee she will give them plenty of attention and walks throughout the day! We are very excited to have her watch them again in a few weeks!

This is the third time I’ve had the pleasure of having Karen sit my dogs. As soon as you meet her, you can tell she is a take charge person and more, she sets good boundaries for the dogs. Consistency is the hallmark of her interaction with my two Tibetans. Hand-in-hand with this is her wonderful and loving interaction with them. As soon as she hits the door, they could not be more joyful. She is their good buddy. Walks, often 2 a day, are also a central part of her sit. As far as my house goes, Karen leaves it neat and tidy. Such a pleasure to come home to. She also provides frequent communiques regarding the dogs’ antics and behaviors. All in all, Karen is the best of the best THS sitters I have had. I recommend her with much enthusiasm.

Karen and Garrett took great care of Avon while we were away. They took him adventuring around the city and left him happy and tired. They took care of him while he had developed a hot spot, and were diligent about making sure that it resolved. Karen was an excellent pet sitter. She was very flexible throughout the whole process, from working around my schedule to pick up the house keys, to offering to feed my pets an additional evening if I got back into town late. She was very easy to communicate with about my pets’ needs and routines. She also offered reassuring texts when she arrived at the house to confirm all was well. I was able to enjoy my vacation with my family without worrying about the fur babies. Karen was also extremely neat and tidy. She left no trace of her even being there. I came home to my house just as I had left it. I highly recommend Karen to anyone looking for a house and/or pet sitter.
Karen once again did a great job for me and my furkids! She goes above and beyond by doing added tasks making it so nice to have her...simply things like washing dishes, putting towels in the washer and making sure all the water bowls are not only filled but washed first. Karen and Garrett are excellent house/dog sitters. Karen wrote to me nearly every day telling me about my dogs’ antics and to their great fortune, walks that occurred three times a day. When I returned from my vacation, the house was clean and tidy and the dogs were well groomed. With all the rain, Karen used towels to handle the wet paws and bodies thus keeping the house free of dirt and prints. To sum up, Karen and Garrett are very personable, very responsible and very loving toward pets. I recommend them wholeheartedly for any pet sit or house sit. You will be happy with the extra effort they take and will rest easy knowing they are in your home.

Karen and Garrett house and pet sat for us over the weekend, and we highly recommend them. They were simply the best and did a fantastic job!
Our two dogs (Nala and Tigger) mean the world to us. We have never left them alone for a night before and everywhere we go, we try to bring them with us. Nala, unfortunately, is very apprehensive when it comes to other people. We explained this to Karen and Garrett, and they were willing to come to our house a few weeks in advance to meet her and Tigger. To top it off, they even met with us again a few days prior to them sitting to make sure Nala was reacquainted with them. Karen and Garrett really went out of their way to make us feel comfortable and assured that our fur babies were in good hands.
It was extremely comforting to see that every time we checked in, we could see Karen and Garrett making every single effort they could to follow our instructions to the letter, using our commands and routines to train and care for our dogs, and respecting our home to the point that we came home to a clean kitchen (not a dirty dish to be found) and freshly laundered linen in the bed they occupied during the stay.
If you are looking for people you can trust to take care of your fur babies and home the way you want it done, don’t even bother looking for anyone else. Karen and Garrett are the way to go. The peace of mind and security you will be afforded will be invaluable. We have the utmost confidence in them to watch over our kids and home again, and hope they will be able to house and pet sit for us again.
Karen popped over for a short pet sit, our second sit using her services. It was our good fortune that Karen was willing to fit in a short sit while we went to a relative's memorial event. There's nothing to fret over when Karen's in charge. She sent texts reporting that she and Sherpa the cat were hanging out in his favorite place, the media room, where he sits in the screened window on the lookout for invaders. As long as someone's in the chair next to him, he's brave enough to be on patrol. Thanks, Karen, for giving us your time this past weekend.
Karen is a wonderful house sitter. She was flexible with leaving her job at lunchtime to check on our animals, understanding when our newly refinished floors still had a lingering smell, and attentive to all of the herbs and supplements that our aging animals take. She leaves the house as clean as we left it, and is considerate and responsible in every way possible. I highly recommend her for any house/pet sitting needs!

Listened to a number of instructions for my pets and my home. When I had a family emergency and asked if she could spend a bit more time with my fur family- she never hesitated. Karen is a wonderful person, and dog sitter extraordinaire. I have a need to stay in touch, and Karen was there for me with frequent email notes and pictures. I could tell from them that things were well under control and that my doggies were safe. The dogs were walked on a daily basis and when I returned, their long hair was silkier than when I left, good grooming. Regarding the house, how nice to return to clean and tidy after I got home. Personable, conscientious, and responsible, Karen is the best sitter you will find. I’m hoping she will return for my upcoming trips.
