Karen and I are continuous travelers. We immerse ourselves in cultures, people and environments around the world to quench our thirst for learning and tasting the variety of life.
We both spent 20+ years working in the corporate world, loving what we did but taking every opportunity to explore a new corner of the world every chance we got. Finally in early 2012 we decided to give up the stability and safety of corporate life to follow our dreams. In 2.5 years we visited over 60 countries, living out of backpacks and being foot-loose and fancy free. We didn’t “come home” once during that time, and we loved our new life.
As with all good plans, things changed, and we returned to the US in 2014. We made our home in the San Francisco Bay Area, and Karen went back to her career in cybersecurity, helping protect computers and people from nefarious hackers.
I, on the other hand, didn’t want to give up traveling. Instead of returning to the corporate world, I trained for and began a career to as a tour director. Today you may find me leading group tours throughout the US in the spring and the fall, helping people of all ages develop a love of travel and a sense of amazement at what the world has to offer.
By Nov 2020, Karen was ready to retire once more, so we found homes for our worldly possessions, gave up our apartment, and hit the road, pandemic and all. Everything we own now fits easily in our Mazda CX-5, and we’re once again living the nomadic life. Yay!
We’re exploring places both new and old, and looking forward to expanding our explorations once the world opens up again.
We’re glad you stopped by to learn more about us and this crazy life we’re living. We hope by reading about our experiences, you might be inspired to look at life differently, question your assumptions, and find the path to your dreams.
