After returning to Washington DC from Bhutan/Nepal

After returning to Washington DC from Bhutan/Nepal (with a day long layover to see some of Doha), I jumped in the car and drove 3,050 miles to the other Washington. We're going to spend the summer in the PNW, and the car had to get here somehow....

I was so glad to arrive, and even more glad when I saw the view from all the windows along the back of the cozy 1920's era cottage I'm renting. That's Mt Rainier, and I can also see Seattle (including the Space Needle)!

Tian Tian Hainanese Chicken Rice’s winning secret is its traditional recipe, featuring tender steamed chicken, fragrant rice and complex, spicy chilli sauce. Anthony Bourdain, among others, raved about this hawker stand.

I brought mine home because I wasn’t hungry yet while in Chinatown. Here’s the half that’s left for tomorrow. Cost: 8.80 Singapore dollars (a little less than $6.60 USD).

The first night of our New Zealand--Australia--Women's World Cup adventure was spent on this lovely hillside near the Bay of Plenty. I binge watched @Netflix until 10pm NZ time (3am Pacific) on the plane, and slept through to 5:30am both on the plane and this morning. I'm glad I dodged jet lag but have a feeling it'll get me on the way back to the States 🥱
